From June 26 to July 21, 2023 , the René Cassin Foundation – International Institute for Human Rights will be holding its 52nd Summer Session at the University of Strasbourg (Escarpe). This historic training session in Europe will welcome 150 to 200 international participants from all over the world to learn about international human rights law. Some 46 internationally recognized experts (academics, international organizations, NGO and association leaders, etc.) will be presenting excellent lectures to our participants. The program, aimed at advanced students of legal, political, human and social sciences, is also open to teachers and researchers, members of the legal profession, national and international civil servants, and anyone with a general interest in the field of human rights. The 52nd Summer Session will comprise three modules. The first will include in-depth instruction on the international protection of human rights, while the second module will be dedicated to international humanitarian law, in partnership with the ICRC. Finally, the third and last module will be devoted to international criminal law. Courses are given simultaneously in French and English in two separate lecture theatres. A live webcast in French is also available for remote participants unable to travel to Strasbourg. Round tables, masterclasses and discussions on international careers round off this intensive training session on human rights education.
